Cathy Fong *Day 2*

I have to admit that this next inspiration card by Cathy is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever laid eyes on.  I love everything about it!
And here's my oh-so-humble take:
All stamps by Penny Black: 40-109 Allover Pattern, 4242K Flower Garden
The background was stamped with VersaMark Ink and embossed using clear powder.  Next, I applied Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, and Tea Dye Distress Ink over the embossing.  To create the main panel, the image was stamped using Gray Flannel Memento Ink onto the Spellbinders die.  The background was inked with Broken China, Scattered Straw, and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I also stamped the main image onto white cardstock, colored the flowers with Copics, cut out, and adhered with dimensional adhesive onto the main panel.

Thanks for your visits and sweet comments this week!
See you on Monday with a new PB&J Video...

I love her color choices and the glow Cathy always creates when coloring:
And here's my take:
The images (Penny Black 4257K Shop & Tweet, 4259J Tour De Fun) were stamped with Memento Expresso Truffle ink and colored with copics.  The paper was distressed with Antique Linen and Scattered Straw Distress Ink.  Sentiments by Penny Black, 30-097 Hello Gorgeous.

Craftin' with Family

So last weekend myself, mom, 11-year-old niece, and my sister-in-law got together to be creative and stamp. I was so impressed by their creations, that I snuck a picture of them to share here:
We played with embossing, Faber-Castell Gelatos, Distress Inks, and of course Penny Black stamps!
Inspired by their creativity, here's what I created:
I began by stamping Penny Black 40-107 Posies with VersaMark Ink onto white cardstock and embossing with white embossing powder.  Next I colored with Faber-Castell Gelatos on the background, working in small sections and blending with my fingertip as I went.  I wiped off the background with a damp baby wipe, blending the colors and also removing the Gelato from the white embossed areas.  Once dry, I added a touch of Distress Ink over the flowers (Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint). Finally I stamped Penny Black 1999L Letter Background using Distress Ink, added ribbon, twine, and sentiments by SRM Stickers, 51015 Shine Your Light. Card shape cut with Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles.

Thanks so much for your visits this week. I hope you have a creative weekend, maybe even some time to be creative with family or friends! I know I am counting my blessings to finally be living near my family and spending lots of time with them. :) See you on Monday with my next PB&J video. HUGS!

Inspired by...Gina *Day 4*

I love Gina's cards so much I just had to sneak in another one this week. :)  Check out this beautiful creation of hers:
I was especially inspired by her earthy colors and the addition of that pretty doily!
Here's my take:
The flower and butterflies (Penny Black 30-095 Flower Festival) were stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  They were then colored with Copics.  The backgrounds were inked with the following Distress Inks: Tea Dye, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, and Gathered Twigs. Sentiment by Penny Black 30-105 Gratitude.

See you soon- I've got some beautiful projects created by my niece, mom, and sister-in-law to share in my next post. :)

Gina *Day 2*

Here's our next inspiration card by Gina:
I LUV Gina's beautiful color scheme combined with the white embossing.  It's so fresh and springy.  Here's my take using her colors with white embossing:

I began by stamping Penny Black 40-101 Mosaic with VersaMark Ink and embossing with white embossing powder.  Next, I inked this piece with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  This made it easy to see where the flowers were when I colored them using Prismacolor Pencils.  This piece was trimmed and mounted onto white and brown cardstock.  Sentiment, Penny Black 30-105 Gratitude, was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.
Thanks for peeking! HUGS!

Inspired by...Gina A.

I'm so thrilled to announce that this week's featured artist is Gina Alferez.  Gina makes beautiful cards and I was lucky enough to meet her in person at CHA this year, and let me tell you, she's as sweet as pie!
Here is today's inspiration card from Gina.  I love that she used a Penny Black Christmas stamp, Poinsettia Script, to create a gorgeous sunflower background. So clever!
And here's my take:
I began by stamping Penny Black 4236K Sunburst onto white cardstock using VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink.  I heat embossed the flowers using clear embossing powder and then colored them with Copics.  Next, I inked the background using Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Ink.  Penny Black 2025M Music Note Background was stamped with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, removing some ink with a baby wipe before stamping.  The sentiment, Penny Black Sweet Wishes, was stamped onto Spellbinders Labels 7 using VersaFine Vintage Sepia Ink.  The Labels 7 dies were inked with Peeled Paint and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
Thanks for stopping by! See ya on Wednesday with another FAB card by Gina!
