Inspired by...Vicky!

First of all, thanks to all of you for your AWESOME response to my PB&J video yesterday. In case you missed it, you can still catch up on the Penny Black blog HERE.

Now onto this week's featured artist...drumroll.......Vicky Papaioannou. You can see her awesome work and videos lots of places: her BLOG, PHOTOSTREAM, and over at LilyPad cards. Here's our first inspiration card by Vicky:
Vicky's card is sooo cheery! The bright yellow is like warm sunshine on a summer's day! I love that yellow ribbon, too! Here is my take:
I began by stamping the flower image, Penny Black 4160K, with black ink on Nestabilities Labels 11 and also onto white paper. I inked the background of the die cut piece with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Ink. Next, I stamped the script, Penny Black 1999L, in Forest Moss Distress Ink. The flower was colored using Copics and the leaves were colored with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Markers. I cut out the leaves and flower and mounted them to the die cut piece using dimensional adhesive. The card base began as white cardstock and was distressed using Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. The background stamp, Penny Black 40-046, was stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Thanks so much for looking! See you tomorrow with our next PRETTY card by Vicky! HUGS!

  21. Where do I begin? Wow is a good start! I love the softness of Vicky's card but so love how you gave those colours a little humph with your distressed tones. So love how you added your pics to your blog post by adding a frosted look around the photo. So cool. I love this flower stamp. It is stunning and love how you did your center. The die cut shape is wonderufl and love the text and shading in the center bg. This is so brilliant with the background, but yet demure with it's ever elegant white flower- the lead role in this performance. TFS.
