Inspired by...Joanne Sharpe

I am thrilled to announce that this week's featured artist is the uber-talented Joanne Sharpe. All of Joanne's work which I will be sharing this week is hand-drawn by herself. So, so, SOOO IMPRESSIVE. Take a look at this masterpiece: art © joanne sharpe 2011

I love Joanne's use of bright colors. Her whimsical drawings and hand-lettering just make me smile! And what a great quote, too. Very touching for me personally with my new change in career. Be sure to pop over to her blog so you can take in more of her awesome artwork, my friends!
Here is my take: The background and flowers on this card were colored using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Markers. So that I could have a watercolor look, I colored with the markers on an acrylic block, spritzed with water, and then painted the color on using a paint brush. I also added just a bit of white with a white gel pen on the tips of the petals of the flowers.I drew the border, grass, and some extra doodles on the flower image using a extra-fine tipped Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft PITT Artist Pen. All stamps Penny Black: 3388K Unfold,30-032 Enjoy Life.

Remember, you still have time to sign up for my giveaway- details HERE.
Oh, and shall I give you another hint about my BIG announcement coming soon. Let's see, how about this? Thanks for visiting! HUGS!

  16. Big announcement?! Oh goodness, I couldn't be more excited for whatever it is. I hope you'll be designing product! That would be so cool. Your card rocks today, as always. I love how you took the awesome sketchy style of her hand-lettering and drawing and translated it so easily into your card. I love the flicks of ink around the card - are those the big brush markers as well? Thanks for sharing!
