Inspired by...Stephanie

I'm honored to announce that our featured artist this week is Stephanie!  She is super talented and creates awesome cards, ranging from bold clean and simple designs to beautiful layered elegant work.  Here's a look at Stephanie's inspiration card for today:
I just love the orange and red color scheme and the beautiful layered stamping.  The ledger background contrasts beautifully with the natural floral stamping.  Oh, and I LUV that heart cut from the center of the butterfly!
Here's my take:

I began by inking Penny Black 40-107 Posies with Distress Stains (Fired Brick, Wild Honey, and Peeled Paint) and stamping onto patterned paper. The sentiment is by Penny Black 40-132 and was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.  The large butterfly was cut using Spellbinders Butterflies Two die, stamped with Penny Black 30-114 Puzzle Parts using VersaMark ink, embossed in white, and then I applied Distress Ink (Peeled Paint, Pine Needles) to the die.  The embossed background is Penny Black paper, EP402 Lattice White.

Thanks again for popping by! See ya tomorrow with another peek at a card using NEW release Penny Black stamps.

Have a Wonderful Day!

I've got another big project to finish up this week, so I thought I would share a couple more Penny Black catalog cards I haven't had a chance to share here on the ol' blog.  I sure hope you don't mind-- my plan is to have a new featured artist for next week if I can get all of the "to-do's" crossed of my list! :)
This card was created by stamping Penny Black 40-113 Inspiring using various colors of VersaFine Ink.  Once dry, I added shading using Copic Markers.  I also outlined the images with Copic marker C1- I love the depth this creates.  The background was inked with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then stamped using Penny Black 2025M Music Note Background in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  Sentiment by Penny Black, 30-105 Gratitude.

Thanks for popping by!!

Inspired by...Cathy *Day 3*

I love this colorful and cheery set of cards by Cathy Fong:
As always her coloring is full of life!
Here's my take:

The card bases were cut using Tim Holtz Alterations die Vintage Cabinet Card using Penny Black Mix and Match cardstock. I distressed this cardstock using Forest Moss, Seedless Preserves, and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  I then stamped it using Penny Black 40-106 Paisley, stamping with the same colors as the distressing.  The floral panels were cut from Spellbinders Deckled Edge Ovals and stamped with Penny Black 3872H Astilbe and 40-111 Breezy.  I colored the stamps with a combination of Marvy markers and Stamper's Big Brush markers and then "huffed" on the stamps before stamping.  Next I lightly stamped these pieces using Penny Black 1999L Letter Background inked with Pumice Stone Distress Ink, removing some ink with a baby wipe before stamping.  Sentiment by Penny Black 30-104 Sweet Wishes.

Thanks so much for your visit and for your sweet comments! See you soon with another FAB card by Cathy Fong!
