Inchie Arts and Distress Paints

I’ve been itching to get my hands on the new Distress Paints and so once I finally did, I knew right away I wanted to use them with Inchie Arts Art Squares.  Because the Art Squares are sturdy matboard, they work great with very wet media, like paint.

Here’s how I created this look.  I began by inking my Penny Black brushstroke stamps by dabbing the Distress Paint directly onto the stamp.  Then I simply stamped it onto a white ATC size Art Square.
IMG_0396
Once the paint was dry, I added Distress Ink in the colors of Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy to the Art Square using an ink blending tool.

Finally, I inked a background stamp with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, removed some ink from the stamp by wiping it with a baby wipe randomly, and then stamped onto the Art Square.

I created the notecard backgrounds using the Distress Paint as well.  I colored with the paints onto my craft mat and pressed watercolor paper onto the craft mat, swirling and patting the paper into the ink.  Once the paper was covered, I also sprayed the background with water using a mini mister so the colors blended even more.

Addicted to Embossing... *Day 3*

This tag features Penny Black 40-196 Longing which has been embossed in white.  I added lots of Wild Honey and just a touch of Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to the background.  Next I stamped the script from Penny Black 30-163 Love Chapter using Memento Toffee Crunch Ink.

Addicted to Embossing... *Day 2*

Penny Black 40-193 Wistful is such a unique and artsy image.  To create this card, I began by embossing the image with white embossing powder and then applying Distress Ink over the image. I used the following colors: Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Evergreen Bough, and Chipped Sapphire.  And, of course, I couldn't resist adding some punched butterflies!

Wishing YOU a happy day! See ya tomorrow!

Addicted to Embossing.... *Day 1*

I love using embossing on my projects so this week I thought I'd share three cards I created, each featuring embossing.  For today's card, I embossed Penny Black 40-198 Every Happiness with white embossing powder.  I then colored the images using Memento Markers.  Love that I didn't have to worry about getting outside the lines, as the marker ink wipes right off the embossed areas.  The sentiment is by Penny Black, 30-160 Friendship.

Fun Florals *Day 4*

Thanks so much for joining me this week as I've been sharing several cards, each with some type of floral element.  For today's card I stamped Penny Black 4313J Graceful two times, colored the images with Copics and then cut them out.  I then layered the flowers onto a panel which was already stamped with Penny Black 4310K Verdant using Chalk Ink.

Fun Florals *Day 3*

When thinking of flowers, I find myself reaching for Penny Black 30-159 Dahlias quite often! Today I stamped and masked the small dahlia image to cover the entire background...

Fun Florals *Day 1*

This week as I continue to dream of warmer temps and a blooming garden, I thought it would fun to share cards each with a floral element.  Today's card is a mini and features two floral stamps from Penny Black, 30-117 A Bunch and 40-207 Trailing Beauty.

Live a Colorful Life

You know I love color...
IMG_0279

And this mat/frame was the perfect way to use up scraps of some of my favorite patterned papers.
IMG_0276

I also used lots of Gesso and Gelatos to color onto the papers.
IMG_0278
The sentiments were simply typed in Microsoft Word and printed onto cardstock while the word "colorful" was die cut with Sizzix dies I've had forever and never really used.  Oh, and the birds are little $1 wooden birds from my local craft store.
