Inspired by...Debby *Day 4*

Happy Friday, my friends! I want to begin today by sending a BIG thanks to Debby for allowing me to share her truly special cards this week. Remember, you can see lots more of her charming inspiration on her blog HERE. Love her elegant card today: And here is my take:

The flowers, Penny Black 3865K Gossamer , were colored using Stamper's Big Brush Markers. All of the colored paper is Penny Black Mix and Match cardstock which has been distressed with piercing and by running the edge of my scissors along the edges. The pearls were colored with a yellow Copic marker. Sentiment by Penny Black, CL30-069 Hello Friend.

Debby *Day 3* (and a video)

When you see this next beautiful creation by Debby I just know your jaw is going to hit the ground! I love the yellow and the craft, the dainty polka dots, and her fun tag!
Here is my take. Since I am hosting the Penny Black blog this week, and the challenge is "distressing," I added a bit of ink to mine:

The flowers, Penny Black 3388K Unfold, were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Stamper's Big Brush Markers, and cut out to adhere on the card. The grass, Penny Black 40-054 Sweet Home, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with a green PITT Artist Pen (perfect for fine, detailed images). The ground was distressed with Crushed Olive Distress Ink and the sky was distressed with a combination of Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress Ink. The bottom part of the card was inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and then flicked with water to create water spots. I inked the notecard with Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Sentiment by Penny Black, 30-032 Enjoy Life.

Today on the Mementos Blog I have a step-by-step photo tutorial showing the creation of this card. Stop by and check it out HERE.

And just in case you missed it, this is the video tutorial I had posted on the Mementos blog yesterday, showing the creation of a complete set of cards using one of my favorite Penny Black Sticker sets, Romance of Flowers. I'm thinking of using these fun stickers to create sets of cards to give away as Christmas gifts this year (anybody who knows me knows I better get started on these like... yesterday! LOL).

Thanks for visiting today! See u tomorrow! HUGS!

Debby *Day 2*

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 2 of inspiration with Debby! Her card today is sure to knock your socks off: Aren't these neutral colors breathtaking? And the touch of script at the bottom is such a great touch. Finally, I love her use of baker's twine with this elegant design.
Here is my take:

I began by stamping Penny Black 40-012 Irises with Antique Linen Distress Ink onto Tiara White cardstock. Next, I colored directly over this image using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Art Grip Aquarelles (no water used on this card). I inked this entire piece of cardstock with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. To create the paint splatters, I colored with a Stamper's Big Brush Marker onto an acrylic block, spritzed the acrylic block with water, dipped my paint brush into the ink, and then splattered across the paper. The script, Penny Black 1999L Letter Background, was stamped at the bottom using Antique Linen Distress Ink. To create the orange background, I swiped a Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink Pad directly across the paper. I inked all edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and mounted onto a white card base cut from Tiara White Cardstock. Sentiment by Penny Black, 30-032 Enjoy Life.
And I also wanted to mention, in case you wanted to play along, that this week I am the host over on the Penny Black blog and the challenge is anything to do with "distressing" - Distress Inks, distressed edges, paint splatters... ANYTHING distressed! :)

Today on the Mementos Blog I am sharing this card set created with Penny Black stickers and distress inks and stains. I had a ball creating this set and I also have a video tutorial posted today for these cards- I hope you can stop by and see it HERE. www.ilovemementos.blogspot.com

Thanks for visiting!!! See you tomorrow! HUGS!

PB and J and Inspired by...Debby

I'm THRILLED to announce that this week's featured artist is the queen of clean and simple, Debby Hughes! Debby's cards always leave me inspired to try something new. Check out this beautiful card of hers: Her card is so sophisticated! And I love that each element shines with her clean and simple style.
Here is my take:

This is also this week's PB&J card, so you know what that means..... Watch a video tutorial demonstrating the creation of this card from start to finish on the Penny Black BLOG or directly on YouTube HERE. I had fun using some new stuff in this video including CUT AND DRY NIBS (available HERE) to color the flower with my Distress Inks.

Here's a peek at what is happening on the Mementos Blog today. Pop over to see this week's in-store Make and Take cards (all products used available online as well) and to see 2 other cards using the same stamps!
