Tiffany *Day 4*

I have another elegant card by Tiffany to share today:
There are so many beautiful details on this card. First of all, I love the monochromatic color scheme! The intricate punch and beautiful bow add such an elegant touch. And speaking of details, aren't those pearls just perfect?! I would have never thought to use them with this image, but they work so well. Finally, Tiffany has picked out the perfect sentiment-both in meaning and style!

Here is my take. While the colors on my card are very different than Tif's, I found my inspiration in her overall card design/layout--a center panel, punched on the bottom, and a sentiment below. And I have SUPER FUN announcement today. I have been asked to be a Hero Arts Hostess!! I just love the Hero Arts community, so needless to say I am honored to be a hostess. It reminds me of a vintage wedding gown or formal dress. The pearls and lace add to the soft texture and feminine feeling of this card. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Cathy *Day 5*

This card from Cathy is going to AMAZE you:

Prepare yourself for this---Cathy COLORED IN that beautiful brocade pattern! Yes, I repeat, she COLORED IN that pattern! She first stamped it with a light grey and went over it with "very sharp" colored pencils. I don't think it gets any more beautiful than this! What an awesome technique which is executed perfectly here! If you look HERE and HERE you can see a couple other of Cathy's cards where she used this same technique.

Here is my take on Cathy's card. I was very inspired by her bright coloring on the white cardstock. Also, I drew some inspiration from the fabulous Jennifer McGuire when designing this card.

And it's official, I don't know if I can make cards without butterflies! LOL! I think I am going to need a 12 step program and a sponsor to get me off of this butterfly kick!
See you tomorrow with our last card from Cathy! Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your sweet, sweet comments!

Cathy *Day 4*

I just love this round scallop card by Cathy:

This card caught my eye right away when I saw it in Cathy's photostream. I love the way she created a set of vertical panels, even on a round card! The stitching accents the center panel perfectly! Finally, Cathy's distressing adds a nice finishing touch! Oh- and that blue flower--gorgeous!

Here is my take on Cathy's card. I was really inspired to recreate those vertical "panels" and to add lots of distressing! Oh, and thank you, Joy, for the text paper- love it!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Cathy *Day 3*

This next card by Cathy is wonderful:

Her three tulips are perfectly stamped and colored. I also love how Cathy paper pieces the flower image and then also colors it with copic markers to give it dimension. The punched border is the perfect touch of detail and elegance. Finally, Cathy has mixed many stamped images together (text, flowers, heart flourishes) and they look like they were all meant to go together! This is not an easy thing to do- so impressive! Oh- I almost forgot-- look very closely at the background behind the tulips. Cathy created that subtle background by stamping a sentiment repeatedly! How inspiring!

Here is my take:Thanks again for your comments and encouragement. See ya tomorrow!

Supplies---Stamps: Background Sentiment (Hero Arts CL342), Butterfly (Hero Arts CG130), Flourish (Hero Arts CG119); Ink: Distress Ink (Tim Holtz); Other: Scallop Punch (Fiskars), Distress Stickles (Ranger), Pearls (Recollections), Misc. Cardstock and Thread

Our next card by Cathy is SUPER cute:

I love the progression of images and the changes in the frog's eyes! And the sentiment--fabulous!! Cathy adds so many special touches to her coloring- I love the frog's pink tummy. Cathy's coloring also coordinates beautifully with the patterned paper making this card incredibly eye-catching!

Inspired by... Stampersuzz!

Welcome to another week of inspiration! This week the featured stamper is Sue (AKA Stampersuzz on flickr)! Her cards are always magnificent works of art! Every time I stop by her blog I am blown away by her creations! Let's get started; shall we?

Here is Sue's first inspiration card. It's actually a tag (which she is VERY talented at creating, BTW!): First of all, I love the colors on this tag. The orange and black are so bold and fun. The layered strips of cardstock, stamping, and butterflies make for a wonderful design and a great starting off point for inspiration! The butterflies all lined up in a row almost create the illusion of ruffles or a border punch- something very unique that I haven't seen before! Finally, the two little buttons with twine finish off this beautiful tag perfectly!

Here is my take on this fun tag:

Thanks again for stopping by. I can't wait to share Sue's creation for tomorrow- it'll knock your socks off! :)

Inspired by...

Today I have a very special featured artist whom I hold close to my heart, my best friend, Kari! And here is a blast from the past--
a picture of us from high school:

Those were the days! I think that picture is over 10 years old!

I know you will just love Kari's scrapbook layouts. I so admire her sense of style and attention to details. I have a couple of pages from her pregnancy album to share(she is wonderful mom and is expecting kiddo number 3 right now). Because her pages are so spectacular they inspired a couple of cards!

Here is our first page by Kari: I just love that Kari scrapbooks her ultrasound pictures of the tiny little life growing inside of her! The colors on this page are so bright and cheery with perfect distressing, too! And don't you love the flower Kari used in place of one of the photo corners? Perfectly inked around the edges!

Here is my card:
Here is the next scrapbook page by Kari:Kari is such a beautiful and radiant expectant mother! This page is so pretty! I love the orange backdrop accented by those big, bold flowers. I love the way she added the swirls of smoke from the chimney! Her cute house looks so warm and cozy against the dark blue paper! The embossed background is the perfect touch of texture. Finally, the polka dot ribbon ties in all of the colors. This would make such a perfect card to send someone after visiting their home for the holidays!
