Joining the Inchie Arts Team!

I am so excited to announce today that I am joining the Inchie Arts design team!
Inchie Arts' products are really the cadillac of art boards and come in a variety of colors and sizes.  As I explore mixed media more and more, I LOVE that Art Squares allow me to stamp and layer lots of wet media onto a strong board without any warping or curling.
The Art Squares come in a variety of sizes and colors and today I'm using one of the new larger sizes, a white 3"x 3".  Perfect for a cute little card (or 2)!

I began by stamping my images (Penny Black) and then coloring around the images with a white Prismacolor Pencil and Our Crafter's Workshop Stencils.    (Thanks, Dina, for this great technique!)  I then painted my images with Dr. Ph Martin's Hydrus watercolor inks. The areas colored with the stencils resist the ink.

To finish off the Art Squares, I wrapped them with twine, added a bow and a pearl, and a sticker sentiment from SRM.  Finally, I added them to a simple card with dimensional adhesive.

I can't wait to share more Inchie Arts projects with you soon!

Spring Edition 2013 *Day 4*

pennyblack_springedition

Last week I shared a PB&J quick tip video on the Penny Black blog, demonstrating a watercolor technique for coloring the cute critters from 30-152 Garden Critters.  (You can view the video HERE.)  I thought I'd share a look at each individual card today.

On the card above I used The Twinery twine (available from SRM stickers) in the color of pink sorbet as a finishing touch.  And on the next two cards, I love how stamping 40-169 Diamond Pattern and 40-162 Crystal Pattern in pink transformed them from  Christmas stamps to great springy backgrounds!

And speaking of watercolors and spring, 12-year-old niece, Maddi, watercolored this entire card.  You are so talented, Maddi, thanks for letting me share your artwork!!

Spring Edition 2013 *Day 3*

pennyblack_springedition

This bookmark was created by combining 30-109 Spring Wishes (BTW- totally love the sentiments in this set) with my Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Art Grip Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils.  The bright orange ribbon is by Ribbons Unlimited.  I'm thinking I might layer this onto a bright blue notecard as I really don't need many bookmarks for my Kindle... :)

Spring Edition 2013 *Day 2*

pennyblack_springedition

Today, I'm playing with my favorite set of the new release, 30-152 Garden Critters. I colored the image with Copic markers, choosing colors to match the ombre ribbon by Ribbons Unlimited. The background was created by repeatedly stamping the chevron image from Penny Black 30-114 Puzzle Parts.

Spring Edition 2013 *Day 1*

Last week, Penny Black revealed 4 new T for Transparent sets as part of their new spring collection.  I'll be sharing my creations using these sets over the next few days.

This first card features 30-166 Lulu Spring. I colored Lulu with copic markers, cut her out, and then layered with Distress Inked paper and a page from the Madison designer paper pad.

Springtime Makeover PB&J Video

For today's PB&J video tutorial I've used a new Penny Black set, 30-152 Garden Critters, to give a set of winter cards a springtime makeover!
Here's a look at my wintery inspiration, a set of three Penny Black Les Petite cards:

Thanks for hopping by! :)
Edited to Add: I've had several questions on what type of watercolor paper I am using so I thought it might be easiest to update here-- Strathmore, cold press, 140 lb. It came in a 15 x 11 inch pad.
