Who hasn’t been inspired and filled with amazement when visiting Jill’s fabulous blog? I’m sure you can imagine my delight to be here today as the guest blogger! So while Jill is knocking everyone’s socks off at CHA with her extraordinary talent, let’s get inspired.
Jill’s penchant for deep rich, saturated color always makes her cards standout from the rest….they are all such eye-candy! Her photo-stream is just one gorgeous card after another. It was difficult to choose just one card as my inspiration but this one captured my imagination; I love the Penny Black Music Background and of course the rich warm colors that are Jill's signature.
I decided to use all the same elements Jill used on her lovely creation; flower image, 2 butterflies, music background on a raised panel and of course those fabulous colors.
I started with the Music panel; I stamped PB Music Background with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on white cardstock (Neenah Solar White). I trimmed the panel and lightly covered it with Wild Honey Distress ink (I love this gorgeous warm color and use it a lot!) Then I went around the edge with Vintage Photo. This panel was layered with black cardstock. For the background panel, Penny Black Paisley Outline was stamped using Antique Linen Distress ink on white cardstock. I blended more Antique Linen over the whole panel and used Vintage Photo to add some deep color and contrast around the edge. I mounted this to a white top-fold card base.
For the butterflies, I colored with a red Copic marker R27 on the Music Background scrap and punched them out with a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch.
The flower is from Hero Arts clear set Big and Small Flowers. I stamped the large flower 3 times with Tuxedo Black Memento ink then colored one with red, one with magenta, and the center of the third one with yellow. I used the stem with leaves from the same clear set. I used these Copic Markers for all of my coloring: R27, R46, RV17, Y15, Y19, Y38, YG05 and YG07.
My sentiment is a favorite SRM sticker added to white cardstock and layered with black cardstock. My only embellishment is a bit of black crochet thread tied in a bow around the music panel.
Thanks for joining me today; it is such a thrill to fill in for Jill today and even a greater joy to count her a friend. I hope you’ll visit my blog, Happy Heart Studio; I just may have a little blog candy for you! Blessings ~

Is your jaw still on the floor?? Mine is! This card is one of my all-time favs! Nancy has done an incredible job coloring the flowers. I love the soft, sweet tones she has used. The touch of lace is PERFECT. I also love the way she has added the sentiment. Seriously, I just can't get over how pretty this is!!

I love the sky blue colors with the pop of orange around the sentiment. And isn't Nancy's background the prettiest? She mixes different shades of blue with different images to create a beautiful, subtle collage! Finally, you know me and butterflies... :) Nancy's tone-on-tone butterfly is gorgeous!

Nancy has such a knack for picking out the perfect sentiment go with her design. I love how she has repeated the her sentiment so that it becomes a part the background. Nancy has designed the perfect scene of grass, bright flowers, and blue skies! I love all of her little flowers which seem to overflow over a white picket fence. Finally, Nancy's flower scene really "pops" against the rich, black background.
This card is sure to brighten anyone's day who receives it! It just feels like it comes from the heart. I love Nancy's use of bold colors like the dark blue with the yellow flower. I also love the way she added the green color to the background stamped with text. Her bright yellow flower goes perfectly with the kind sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to come back tomorrow-- I can't wait to show you more of Nancy's FABULOUS cards!!!
