Maddi and Emma

I am sooo honored today to bring you some GORGEOUS cards created by my nieces, Maddi (age 10) and Emma (age 9).  They are truly talented artists and are entering these cards in the Simon Says Children's Challenge.
Here are Maddi's stunning cards:

And this next card by Maddi was all hand drawn- a future stamp illustrator, perhaps? :)
And here's an AWESOME creation by Emma. It definitely makes me smile!

Girls, you are so amazing!  And now you've inspired me!
I can't wait until next month when I get to come visit you so we can stamp together.

See you all tomorrow with a new PB&J video tutorial!

Inspired by...Maddi

I'm so excited to announce a very special guest here on "Inspired by..." It's my sweet niece, Maddi! Maddi is 10 years old and quite the budding artist. She has recently won a couple of coloring contests in her hometown and I just had to share one of her masterepieces here! Take a look: WOW! I love how Maddi colored in this entire picture using tiny, tiny dots. She has chosen a great color scheme, too. And I also can't get over her idea to mix up some of the colors of dots, like on the bear's hat and jacket, to get an even more unique look. Maddi- YOU ROCK!
Here's my take using Maddi's awesome technique:

I began by coloring in the flowers, Penny Black 3865K Gossamer, with a light Copic marker. Next, I added dots using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft PITT Artist pens. The background of the flower panel was inked using Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Ink. The card base was inked with Walnut Stain (bottom) and Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy (top) Distress Ink. Sentiment by Penny Black 30-064 Good Catch.

Thanks soooo much to Maddi for the incredible inspiration. Sending BIG hugs to you and Emma from your Auntie Jill!! :)

Oh, and before I go I just had to share this CUTE picture Maddi drew on the inside of a handmade card she sent me. I am thinking that you, my stamping friends, might relate to this scenario, i.e. stamping away with the hubby knocking on the craft room door! *wink*

Inspired by... MADDI!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late post today. Because of the holidays, I've decided to do a special week of inspiration by various artists. To begin with today, I will be featuring one of my favorite artists, my 9 year old niece, Maddi. Tomorrow I will feature one of my other favorite artists, Maddi's sister, Emma. On Monday and Tuesday, I can't wait to show you some "Inspired by..." cards featuring a Hero Arts flickr friend who also makes videos that go along with her cards...hhhmmm, who could it be.... :)

As I said before, this gorgeous card was made by my 9 year old niece Maddi! Whenever I get mail from Maddi, I can't wait to open the envelope because I know it will be some kind of beautiful card creation, coloring, or picture she has made herself. I love how Maddi drew her own flower and made a color pattern when she colored in the petals. Don't the leaves on the stem make the perfect heart!? Finally, Maddi is so creative to think of weaving the ribbon to decorate the front of the card. Maddi- I love you so, so, SO much and I always have your card sitting out where I can see it. You always make me smile BIG!
Here is my take on Maddi's BEAUTIFUL card:
Thanks everyone for stopping by! I know it will just make Maddi's day to read your comments about her card. Please be sure to stop by tomorrow, when I share Emma's fun card!
