**EDITED TO ADD: I can't say to all of you enough thanks for all of your kind comments and prayers today. I am continually touched by the heartwarming thoughtfulness that each of you offer to me and eachother, my friends. Your positive words have helped me get through a rough day! Right now Toffee is really dehydrated and still quite lethargic. The vet believes that he may have ate something that upset his stomach. We need to give it 24-48 hrs to know for sure. I hope that our little family has dodged a bullet and I will keep you updated on how he's doing. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that my furry little friend said to tell you all "thanks" too! Ruff, ruff! :)
I'm sorry to say that I don't have a card for you today. I came home from work to find that my sweet dog Toffee had been sick all day and is now extremely lethargic and weak. It breaks my heart to watch him suffer and it is scary to me as he is 15 years old. Needless to say, I just couldn't leave his side last night to prepare my post. We are taking him to the vet this morning and I will keep you updated on what we find out. I hope it is just some fluke and nothing serious.... My husband and I are both HUGE animal lovers and our dogs are like members of our family so it has been a really rough night.

What a beautiful member of the family...I am praying that he is alright...we are pet lovers, too and I feel your worries and pain...we just went thru a bad time last week with a pet...poor baby...give him a huge hug from me!!
Hi Jill, I'm sorry to here your news about Toffee as this is the first time I have visited your blog, I hope all goes well and Toffee makes a quick recovery, I know how you must be feeling as we had a border collie called Molly and she was my best friend for 16 years. Oh...I'm so sorry, Jill. My heart goes out to you. That's one of the hardest things to deal with when a loved pet is sick. Hopefully he bounces back. {{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}

Jill, I am so sorry to hear that Toffee is so sick. It is heart breaking to watch them when they are not well. You are a good mama for staying by his side and loving him while he is not well. The posts can wait. They do become members of your family....When someone asks about my children, I say my husband had 2 daughters from a previous marriage, I had a son from a previous marriage and Rascal was the only child from this marriage.

I hope your sweet pup feels better soon. It's heartbreaking to know they are sick. I too have older pups and I'm always terrified that they'll get sick. They really are like my children as I'm sure Toffee is to you.

We are big dog lovers and I have had a few in my life. At the moment we have a beautiful Gold Lab who my friends refer to as Shirley`s third child!

I feel so bad for you - I have 2 13-year old dogs myself and my husband and I would be devastated if something happened to them! Hope everything turns out all right!
It's hard to find the right words when you know how painful this is for you and your hubs. I hope that Toffee just ate something that isn't agreeing and he gives you some more time with him. Hope Toffee is feeling better by now. Hope it is temporary. So hard to have an older dog who is sick. It can be scary.
