Creative Dies #5

I LOVE butterflies so Penny Black's Creative Die 51-006 Flutters is right up my alley!

I inked each butterfly with a combination of Palette Inks and Distress Inks.  I then stamped using the same inks for a tone-on-tone look. All stamps are by Penny Black. I especially love using the great patterns in PB's T for Transparent set Tree-Mendous for the small butterflies.

Creative Dies #4

Here's a trio of balloons using Penny Black's Creative Dies 51-004 Uplifting...

The background on this card was created with lots of background stamping and layers of ink and Distress Paints.  To color the balloons I first used my Copics and then added some "splotches" of Distress Paints.
I've got more cards coming your way tomorrow AND Friday...

Creative Dies #3

Today's card uses Penny Black Creative Die 51-009 Dots for a textural border beneath the flowers.

To achieve this look I first die cut Dots two times from Neenah Solar White cardstock, trimmed it to fit along the bottom of the card, and colored each trimmed piece using Distress Stains (Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey).  I then glued each piece to one solid piece of white cardstock.  Once dry, I colored the pieces using Distress Paints.  I love how some of the ink went down into the holes just a bit.  The flowers  (Penny Black) were also stamped with Distress Paints.
Thanks for visiting!
I'm die-ing to show you more cards... :)

Creative Dies #2

This is one of my favorite cards I've made so far using Penny Black's new Creative Dies.  I've used 51-002 Leaves and 51-001 In A Row.

After die cutting the leaves/branches I colored them with Distress Stains (Fired Brick, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Broken China and Dusty Concord).  I also stamped the background (Penny Black) using these same colors.  I layered the dies on with foam dots and added the trimmed birds from the In A Row Creative Die.  The twine is from the Twinery and is available at SRM Stickers (love that they carry this twine!).

PB Creative Dies #1

If you haven't heard, Penny Black has come out with some BEAUTIFUL dies and I'm totally in love.  I thought over the next few days I would feature some cards created with these Creative Dies.
We begin today with a card using Creative Dies 51-002 Leaves.
IMG_0391
To create this card, I die cut several pieces from one of the dies in the set from white Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I then colored each piece using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos and blended with my fingertip (so easy!). Finally, I glued the die cut pieces onto craft cardstock, covering the entire piece. The background stamp (Penny Black) was inked with Colorbox Chalk Ink in the color of Gray Whale.  And that little strip of polka dot paper was cut from PB's Madison Designer Paper pad, colored with a Gelato, and blended with my fingertip.

Thanks for popping by! See you soon with another card featuring the new dies!
